The Double - New Era in D3 Sprints with JP Vaught

Listen on Apple

“I think that's the one of the biggest things about me is how confident I am in myself. I know what I can do but I also know my limitations. But when the time comes, I'm going to get it done. So, I don't want to do anything differently within the next couple of weeks leading up to nationals. I'm just going to keep being me and keep being confident because that kind of eases my mind and makes me feel better when it's time to run.”

20.66. The new D3 200m record. Last year when we interviewed JP, he predicted he would run 20.76. Last week, he came through with his prediction a whole tenth faster.

In this episode of the Double, we chat with JP on his current season, his indoor season and what we can expect from JP the rest of the season. As a confident runner, JP is feeling great as we head into the championship season but won't let his head get too big.

We should note we did speak with Derrick Jackson after his 100m record, but given the questionable mark deemed by the USTFCCCA, we're going to hold onto that episode.
