Episode 114 - Sara (Mostatabi) Passani

In her first marathon since the 2020 Olympic Trials, Sara Passani dropped a 6 minute PR to run 2:34 at CIM. An injury kept her out of the race the year prior and with the standard getting faster, she was ready to give it a shot. Prior to the race, they decided not to focus on the standard but instead focus on getting really fit. As the miles clicked off, she could tell it was going to be a good. As a she crossed the finish line with tears down her race, she realized what went into this day.

After graduating in 2015, Sara gave up running at a competitive level to focus on her career at a private equity firm. She returned to the sport after a friend introduced her to a potential training partner that was running Grandma's Marathon in 2019. After obtaining an OTQ and competing at the 2020 trials, Sara knew there was more in the tank.

Sara take us through her running journey that emphasizes balance. Her perspective on what is important to keep her running fast is a great lesson for all.
