2026 D3 XC Rankings: Post Interregional Weekend

Wartburg men and UW-La Crosse women posted sweeping victories at Augustana. MIT men dominated and Middlebury women upset Williams at Conn College. At home, SUNY G men led a tight battle to victory ahead of RPI, NYU, Carnegie Mellon, and Amherst. NYU women coasted to first ahead of Carnegie Mellon, who eclipsed SUNY G by a single point.

In this week’s rankings, Wartburg men move to first after an impressive string of victories: first place at Pre-Nats ahead of #3 Johns Hopkins and now first at Augustana by over 40 points (we just had to be sure). SUNY Geneseo moves to #2 after narrowly beating RPI at home in a much smaller race without their No. 4 Owen Murphy. The battle between these two teams feels like watching a national 10k race: Wartburg just overtook the leaders from the gun SUNY G, but there’s still 3k to go, and the chase pack is not far behind.

RPI men move from #7 to #4 and North Central men jump from #11 to #7 after surpassing an Owen Clark-less UW-La Crosse at Augustana.

NYU women hold onto their lead after a convincing win against #8 Carnegie Mellon, who moves up from #13 after beating top-10 SUNY Geneseo. Middlebury women move back to #4 after a hard start led by defending national champion Audrey MacLean rewarded the Panthers with an upset over #2 Williams, who was missing their #1 runner from Pre Nats Sophia Capozzi.

UW-La Crosse women move from #4 to #3 following a massive victory over UChicago at Augustana, where UW-Eau Claire finished fifth to jump from #22 to #14. Calvin moves up with them from #21 to #18 after taking down MIAA rival Hope, who ran without their #3 runner.

Trine and UW-Whitewater men drop out after one week in the spotlight, and 2026 rankings newcomers Calvin and MSOE come in to replace them, while St. Olaf rejoins the rankings to displace John Carroll. On the women’s side, everyone remains safe for now.

Conference weekend lies just a week and a half ahead, where upsets are imminent in small fields with high pride.
