The D3 Trials Files: Kim Horner

“You have to love it to want to keep going out the door every day and trying something hard and scary, but also exciting”

Kim Horner began her marathon career in 2015 when she had a little fomo that she wasn’t running the Twin Cities Marathon with her friends.

It’s the community that brought her to the marathon and what continues to be her driving force behind her success. Shoutout @millcityrunning

The culture at Luther is something she still thinks about today and has influenced her marathon career.

In her debut, she ran 2:56 and in 2022 ran her OTQ of 2:36:43.

Patience, perseverance and progression has been the theme of Horner’s career as she never made it to the state meet in high school nor an All-American in college.

Catch Kim in Orlando ready to take on the strong field!
